Fundamentals
INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY

Operates under the seven fundamental principles

Humanity

We strive to prevent and alleviate human suffering in all circumstances, protecting life and health while ensuring respect for human dignity. Our mission is to serve those in need with compassion and care.

Impartiality

We provide assistance solely based on need, without discrimination of nationality, race, religion, gender, or political beliefs. Every person deserves equal care and support in times of crisis.

Neutrality

To maintain the trust of all, we do not take sides in conflicts or controversies. Our only commitment is to humanitarian service, ensuring aid reaches those who need it most.

Independence

While we work alongside government and other organizations, the Indian Red Cross Society remains autonomous, allowing us to act in accordance with our humanitarian mission at all times.

Voluntary Service

Our work is driven by selfless service, with volunteers at the heart of every humanitarian effort. We believe in serving communities with dedication, expecting nothing in return.

Unity

There is only one Red Cross Society in each country, open to all, ensuring collective action and cooperation to strengthen humanitarian efforts. Together, we stand as one to serve humanity.

Universality

The Red Cross is a global movement, where all national societies share equal responsibility in responding to crises worldwide. Through unity and collaboration, we bring help wherever it is needed.
